Frequently asked questions
Answers about EmpowerID Identity Fabric, products, licensing, deployment, support, and implementation.
Platform and product questions
EmpowerID Identity Fabric is the enterprise platform. Complete products assemble Fabric capabilities for specific buyer outcomes.
What is EmpowerID Identity Fabric?
EmpowerID Identity Fabric connects identity truth, policy, orchestration, governed execution, credentials, and correlated evidence on one reusable spine. It governs people, non-human identities, and AI agents without requiring you to replace every identity provider or portal you already use.
What is the difference between the platform, products, and Fabric services?
The platform is EmpowerID Identity Fabric—the shared architecture and services that power governance, authorization, orchestration, and proof.
Complete products such as Identity Governance and Agent Governance assemble the Fabric capabilities required for a buyer outcome.
Individual Fabric services can also be licensed for customers embedding a specific capability outside a complete product. See the services catalog for maturity and scope.
What are the principal EmpowerID products?
Identity Governance — lifecycle, access requests, certifications, SoD, and evidence for people and non-human identities (Established).
Agent Governance & Execution — purpose-bound authority, governed execution, and proof for AI agents and digital workers.
Existing deployments may also use Privileged Access and Access Management capabilities documented under customer support—not separate homepage growth stories.
What is Governed Authorization?
Governed Authorization is EmpowerID's decision-plane capability—one logical ABAC authority with graph-enriched context, AuthZEN-compatible evaluation, and contribution-aware revocation. It governs apps, APIs, agents, and authorized search—not a legacy standalone "authorization product" bolted onto IGA.
Does EmpowerID replace Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, or SAP IdM?
Usually no. EmpowerID works behind the identity providers, portals, and ERP identity tools you already operate. Customers retain familiar front doors while moving lifecycle governance, policy, orchestration, fulfillment, and evidence to Identity Fabric incrementally.
What solutions does EmpowerID offer for specific programs?
Solution pages describe buyer outcomes assembled from Identity Governance and Fabric services—for example SAP identity modernization, B2B partner identity, Microsoft Entra governance, ServiceNow front-door integration, and governed AI agents.
RFP and evaluation
Questions that surface real platform depth
Use these prompts in RFPs and architecture reviews to distinguish Identity Fabric capabilities from point-solution checklists.
Governed Authorization at the access boundary
Does the platform provide one logical authorization authority—with graph-enriched context and standards-compatible policy decision interfaces—for apps, APIs, agents, and authorized search?
Fine-grained SAP and cloud SoD
Can the solution detect toxic access combinations and SoD violations across SAP, Microsoft Entra, and other connected systems—not only within a single application silo?
Identity Fabric composability
Are identity collection, policy, orchestration, governed execution, and evidence reusable services on one spine—or separate products integrated after the fact?
Governed agent execution
For AI agents and digital workers, can the platform authorize each consequential action, stop runs mid-flight, and produce correlated evidence without giving agents custody of credentials?
Low-code orchestration with enterprise controls
Does the platform offer reviewed workflow and connector automation without requiring custom code for every identity process—while keeping policy independent from UI flows?
External and partner identity governance
Can partner organizations, delegated administration, and organization-scoped access be governed in the same model as workforce identity—not only through a separate CIAM signup tool?
Coexistence migration
Can the vendor support incremental adoption behind existing IdPs, SAP IdM, and service desks without a forced rip-and-replace cutover?
Continuous authority and signals
When trust or context changes, can effective authority change in near real time—not only during periodic recertification campaigns?
